Snake Training

Quint Valley Gun Dogs, located in Bennett, Colorado, is proud to announce our Snake Avoidance and Rattlesnake Vaccine Clinic, taking place on Saturday, June 8th, and Saturday, June 29th, 2024.

This clinic offers a crucial opportunity for your canine companions to familiarize themselves with and learn to avoid snakes. With Colorado’s vast outdoor landscapes, it’s essential to equip your loyal four-legged friends with the necessary skills to navigate encounters with these potentially dangerous reptiles safely.

During our training sessions, dogs will be exposed to non-venomous bull snakes to simulate encounters with aggressive snakes, teaching them to avoid potentially dangerous situations, particularly with rattlesnakes. Protect your beloved pets from the life-threatening consequences of venomous snake bites by enrolling them in our snake avoidance training program and having them vaccinated with the Rattlesnake vaccine administered by Dr. Christine Duree. The cost for the snake training session is $100 per dog, and the Rattlesnake vaccine is available at $30 per dog. Please note that dogs without prior Rattlesnake vaccination require a booster.

Additionally, during the month of June, individualized snake training sessions can be arranged for $125, scheduled at your convenience to accommodate your availability.

For those seeking a refresher on snake avoidance techniques or a booster shot for the Rattlesnake vaccine, sessions will be available on June 29th. Additionally, Strasburg Veterinary Clinic offers the Rattlesnake vaccine as well.

Jerry Yokum, our esteemed snake avoidance instructor, will be on hand to address any inquiries regarding gun dog training or general canine behavioral concerns.
